Join Houston Orienteering Club for a score-o at Tom Bass park on Oct. 26, 2024! The “Score O” format is an Orienteering competition where all competitors mass start and have one hour to navigate to as many controls as they can, with 1, 2, and 3 point values depending on difficulty and distance from start. Bring a watch to manage your time for this competition, as every minute past the 1 hour time limit is 1 point is deducted from their total score. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be awarded to different competitive classes. 

Schedule

Register as soon as possible, especially if competing and need rental e-punches as there is limited availability. Payment & Waiver Deadline: Wednesday 23 OCTOBER 2024, 8 PM

• • Competitors are required to use E-Punch and are eligible for medals.

• • Recreational Map Hikers are NOT required to use E-Punch and are NOT eligible for medals.

• • If you do not have an E-Punch (SI Card), HOC rentals may be available for $5

• • For more information or to make an E-Punch (SI Card) purchase/s, contact the SPORTident.us website http://sportident.us

• • Photo ID required for E-punch rental, Replacement cost of E-Stick Rental is $40.

ENTRY FEES

• Competitors – must use an e-punch for scoring.
  • $10 Competitor Entry (e-punch owner) or
  • $15 Competitor Entry with e-punch Rental
  • Each class is eligible for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place awards
• Recreational Map Hikers
  • $5 Recreational Map Hiker Entry – NOT eligible for awards

Step#2: PAYMENT

1. • Pay online during registration with a Credit Card or PayPal

1. • For School Checks, Postmarked by 10/16/2024 to HOC treasurer.

Step#3: Waiver(s)

• • Once you have all waivers completed and signed upload on our waiver upload form.

• • Every participant must have a completed waiver prior to competing.  If the participant is under 18, the waiver must be signed by their parent or legal guardian.

Step#4: Check Who’s Registered?

• Please allow 24-48hrs for most recent changes to registration, if you do not see correct registration data please contact us.
