I want to thank everyone for making Houston Orienteering Club (HOC) host a very successful Stubblefield-2019 orienteering event.
Stubblefield 2019 will be remembered as a challenging event both on and off the orienteering courses. We had to deal with a government shutdown, rescheduling, possible prescribed burning and the incessant rains
The weather finally cooperated with us on Saturday by Start Time and the weather on Sunday was perfect! We also had a new map for Stubblefield and the vegetation was current and the courses challenging especially the advanced courses.
HOC could not have hosted this event without our JROTC cadet volunteers from Crosby HS and HOC’s adult volunteers. Thank you both! I would also like to thank the bus drivers that did pot hole obstacle courses on the FS roads and in trailhead 208.
I would also like to thank Austin Orienteering Club for the use of their E-Punch for the advanced courses.
Be sure to check our website for upcoming events
Safety First,
Al Duquette
