DAY 1 of 1-Day and 2-Day Meets:

Helper #1:
Pick up punch cards and timer tape from the finish area. See additional tasks below.

Helper #2:
Using the finish number, copy the finish time (hrs:min:sec) from the timer tape to the space provided on the punch card.

Helper #3:
Check punches. Circle mispunches on the back of the card. Write "OK" or "DQ" (mispunched) somewhere on the front (not on the end stub).

Helper #4:
If the punch card is marked "OK", convert the finish time to min:sec and write it in the space provided. Calculate the elapsed time and write it in the space provided. Write the elapsed time or "OT" (over time limit of 180 minutes) on the end stub. If the punch card is marked "DQ", write "DQ" on the end stub. Cut off the end stubs. Pass the punch card to the computer helpers.

Helper #5:
Post the end stubs on the string line. Post team results when available.

Helper #6 & #7:
One person handles the cards and the other operates the computer. Edit "Finish times". Select "Disq" for cards marked "DQ". For all other cards, enter the finish time (hrs:min:sec). Verify the start time in the computer and elapsed time on the card. Select "DNF", if over time limit of 180 minutes (OT). Occasionally list "Overall results of teams" and write team results on team cards for posting. For large 1-day meets, have another pair of helpers on a 2 nd computer enter times for half of the courses.
